Does MilliDraw measure a room automatically?

Yes. Live Survey captures rooms on an iPad Pro with LiDAR and saves an interactive 3D model. Rotate and zoom, tap edges for estimated lengths, and open the captured floor plan as a separate editable 2D drawing. Check dimensions needed for fabrication with a tape or laser; scan dimensions are estimates.

Can I export an iPad drawing to DXF?

Yes. Drawings created in MilliDraw can be exported as DXF. The export includes vector geometry, straight-line measurement labels, and typed text for use as a base in compatible CAD software.

Can I reopen an exported drawing?

MilliDraw can reopen its own exported PDFs with embedded drawing data, including saved reference images, line styling, fills, and annotations. Arbitrary PDFs can supply a first-page reference to trace and calibrate; they are not converted into editable vector projects. Live Surveys and raw LiDAR captures are stored separately.

What is included in PDF and DXF export?

PDF is the readable, dimensioned document for review and sharing. DXF carries CAD-compatible vector geometry, straight-line measurement labels, and typed text. Freehand ink and background images are not included in DXF.

Does LiDAR measuring work on every iPad?

No. New Live Survey room scans require an iPad Pro with LiDAR. Photo Measure Mode also requires supported LiDAR hardware and a fresh depth-enabled capture inside MilliDraw. Other iPads can use the drawing, reference import, and PDF/DXF tools.

Does MilliDraw work offline?

Yes. Drawing, editing, reopening MilliDraw projects, and exporting work offline. No account or cloud sync is required.

Scan a room. Explore it in 3D.

Requires iPad Pro with LiDAR. Saved surveys stay on your device and can be reopened offline.

Capture. Open Live Survey, choose New Survey, name it, and start scanning. Move around the walls and corners, follow the coverage colors, then tap Finish Scan.
Review. Rotate and zoom the saved 3D Room. Tap an edge for its estimated length; remove unwanted segments or detected objects and use Undo Removal when needed.
Continue drawing. Open Floor Plan, then Edit Floor Plan. Correct the separate 2D drawing, add notes, and use its PDF/DXF export tools.

Scan dimensions are estimates and small details may be omitted. Check critical dimensions before fabrication. PDF and DXF export the 2D drawing; this release does not add 3D export.

Photo View Beta

Explore a photo-based view of a saved survey. Beta reconstruction quality varies with capture coverage, lighting and scene detail; gaps or artifacts may remain. Scan dimensions are estimates. Check important dimensions independently before fabrication.

Your AI agent, with your permission

Optional online control from a compatible AI app: no Mac connector, local IP address or pairing JSON. The client needs MCP Streamable HTTP, OAuth and automatic client registration. Review and approve each agent on your iPad.

Commands and requested drawing or survey content pass through MilliDraw’s server and may reach your AI app’s model provider. The service stores access metadata, without a persistent cloud copy of your drawings.
